Rolph’s Quarry

And now we get to a character I’ve been planning out for some time now. He’s going to play a very important role in the book, so coming up with a name for him was quite difficult. I literally spent all afternoon coming up with precisely what to use. And he’s turning out to be much more of a sympathetic character than I had initially intended. And I threw in a foil for him just because I thought he needed one. Something tells me I’m going to have a ton of characters in this book. But I guess if other series can do it, surely I can get away with it – right?

Summary: There’s been a disturbance in Leekston. Suzie is unaware of it at first, but as the repercussions echo throughout her home life and threaten her family, she begins asking questions. What she slowly uncovers not only answers long unanswered questions, but makes her realize how deep the deception goes. Will Suzie learn the truth? Will the forces behind it all be able to stop her investigation? And how does a man with amnesia fit into all this?

Not so much written tonight, but after going to Centery, eating dinner, showering – whew! I’m beat, and it’s already after 11:00. Glad the week’s almost over though. I could use some more time to work on this piece. I’m really enjoying this scene. Evil hospitals and sadistic, crazy doctors are always good for fascinating storytelling.
