Some writing done over lunch today, though I admit I got totally distracted with this article, and the inevitable co-worker drama. It’s few and far between at my place of work (thank goodness!), but when it rears its ugly head it’s always a bit disconcerting. Suffice it to say I ended up getting Subway instead of a lunch out with friends as expected. The evening was filled with yummy grilled cheese sandwiches and introducing friends to Seven Years in Tibet, which always makes me feel fairly calm and focused, despite all the violence that occurs in the film. I love David Thewlis in that film – and it’s funny that I hadn’t realized he was the same actor that played Lupin later on.
The story took an interesting twist with Suzie going off to eat Chinese followed by an awkward conversation with her father. True, she seems to always be having awkward conversations over the phone in my books, but then again she’s more involved in the sub-plot than she realizes. Then Terry ended up getting sleep but had very strange fever dreams. Perhaps it’s his subconscious speaking to him? Or just the undercurrents of his mind getting garbled?
Summary: There’s been a disturbance in Leekston. Suzie is unaware of it at first, but as the repercussions echo throughout her home life and threaten her family, she begins asking questions. What she slowly uncovers not only answers long unanswered questions, but makes her realize how deep the deception goes. Will Suzie learn the truth? Will the forces behind it all be able to stop her investigation? And how does a man with amnesia fit into all this?
