Well this isn’t even close to the amount of writing I wanted to get in today, but it’s at least meeting the basic minimum requirement. Hopefully when I have Tuesday and Wednesday off, I can dedicate a bunch more time to catching up on my word count. And maybe *gasp* even getting my NaNo word count in!
As I was telling a friend of mine earlier, I really don’t have a good reason for being so behind. Work put me back a few days and really threw me off from my rhythm. Since then I’ve never quite been able to catch up again. The fact that some amazing games have come out this month, and that Thanksgiving is quickly approaching certainly doesn’t help matters either. I just need to sequester myself away in the office over the next few days and just get the words out.
Project: The Secrets of Leekston (Working)
Deadline: End of 2011 (Preferably much sooner)
New words written: 1,966
Present total word count: 52,104
Total Word Count for 2011: 134,600
This was my first NaNo, and it has definitely been an experience. Looking forward to next year already.
It really is quite an experience – that’s probably the easiest way to describe it at least! There’s really no comparing it to other writing times during the year you work on, because it doesn’t feel the same when you don’t have a whole mass of peeps online to compare and contrast with. Although I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish this year, I know I’ll be doing both NaNo and Camp NaNo again next year. I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed your first time doing it! Sounds like it’ll be just as addictive for you as it has been for me! haha
