Clawbinder Artwork

So the more I’m thinking about self-publishing, the more I’m considering starting out small first. I have my first published short story, “Clawbinder”, coming to the end of its contract term at the end of this month, and I’m thinking about publishing it for free up on Amazon, Smashwords, and B&N. Just to get my feet wet pretty much.

However, since it’ll be a freebie, it isn’t going to leave me much room for a cover budget. Sure I could hash out something on my own in Photoshop, but to have some eye-catching artwork for the piece would really make it interesting. Here are some more interesting artists that I’m considering:

Alyssa May – Fantasy & Horror covers.
Lauren Reeser
– I like her animal depictions here. Would certainly help out with a story about a talking Roc.
Shaun Lindow – Really high quality work.

Once I figure out who I’ll request a quote from, I’ll post up the info here. Surely I’m not the first person to want to post a reprint for free up on a site though – right? I mean it’s already available for free online…
