No more word debt!

I think I finally caught up with my Camp NaNo requirement today! I had a major fight scene to close out with an unexpected dark creature suddenly showing up. Lucius and company do the best they can though, even though there are a number of injuries left in the aftermath. I think I may have one or two more parts to write to this story before I’ll be completely finished with it. Yay!

It’s about 9:30 now and I’ve got kitties on both sides of me. Watson’s sitting on the couch with me, glaring and wondering why I haven’t gone to bed yet, and Salem’s decided to head to sleep on the ottoman. I have such cute, sleepy kitties!

In other news, I watched the last episode for the first season of Sherlock. Let me just say that I was surprised they left it on such a dangerous cliffhanger! Reading over the setup info for the show, I was under the impression that this was a test run for the series to see how it would be accepted. After that final episode, I guess there was no worry! Now I just have to wait on Netflix to come out with the next seasons already.

Summary: The time is before the Prophecy, and a young Lucius Malfoy is sent to explore the disappearance of a Death Eater family. When he comes across their bodies, he calls on Severus to assist him. Together they have to figure out the mystery behind the murder, and deal with the revelation of the Prophecy – and how Lucius and Narcissa’s son might be involved.

The Pit and Other Nasty Places

Today was my attempt at catching up, and I think I did a pretty good job all things considered. My word count for the day was truly epic considering my great lack of words the last few days, and I’m pleased to say that I’ve written enough words to make up for just over two days of Camp NaNo this month. True, I’ll be the first to admit that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 definitely disrupted my usual writing schedule, but I think I’ll be able to handle it. If you had asked me this morning, I wouldn’t have been *nearly* as optimistic.

It’s just after 9:00 here and the day is winding down. Getting ready to start the new week and not exactly looking forward to work starting afresh. I’ve been enjoying the ability to be awash in one of my favorite fandoms all weekend, and it’s never fun going back to the real world. If I had my way, I’d be able to stay in my fantasy worlds more often.

Words Behind in Camp NaNo: 555 (Boo!  But at least it’s not too daunting…)

The Order of the Phoenix working with two Death Eaters on a potential suicide mission. What could possibly go wrong? Lucius finds himself along with Dumbledore and Sirius on a task that’s quite a bit more disgusting than he expected, and then learns a horrible fact about this pit of dead bodies they stumbled upon. Hopefully they didn’t miscalculate the dangers that The Maligned Hand truly pose!

Coming Up: The Boss fight and dealing with The Hand once and for all.

Dumbledore’s Gone Crazy

Well HP 7.2 was AMAZING last night! I signed a guy’s T-shirt, watched an impromptu Very Potter Musical rendition, and finished off the night with pancakes and iced coffee! Not a bad round-up for the evening, especially since I ended up getting around 4-5 hours of sleep too! I admit I was amazed by my own ability to get shit done today, and not be too off from the late-night movie. And I’m slowly catching up to my days from lack of writing. Slowly but surely I’ll get my daily wordcount back to being on time. This weekend will be filled with much more writing!

Lucius has to meet up with several unfriendly Order members, and an agitated Dumbledore. Apparently The Maligned Hand is more of a threat than anyone had realized, and even with their mini-assault group they will likely run into problems. Just another day working for the Order, I mean, the Dark Lord – right?

The Truth About The Maligned Hand

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally psyched for the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 premiere tonight! Heading home after work to have a quick dinner, nap, and wake up to dress up for the premiere. Hopefully I’ll even bring back a few pictures too!

Lucius and Severus learn much more about The Maligned Hand than they wanted to, and so they have to put their heads together to come up with a plan. Severus gets an idea, and Lucius is deadset against it. But what can you do when Snape’s determined to fight for Lily’s life? Regardless of the consequences? I bet Lucius is really wishing he was partnered with someone else for this mission right about now. xD

Argh my word count is suffering this week from the HP Premiere! But its alright, I guess I can sacrifice a few days to the final movie of the series. Didn’t get any writing done yesterday since I passed out while trying to rewatch Deathly Hallows Pt 1. What can I say – the camping bit always bores the crap out of me. Tonight while eating dinner though I’ll be watching a few clips just to make sure I’m up to date. Mostly the scene with Snape’s doe at the lake – supposedly you can hear Snape’s voice saying “Trust Me” around that scene, so we’re going to see if that’s really the case. Then I wanted to watch the scene at Malfoy Manor again. Fenrir is one of my favorite baddies in the series, even though his deadliness isn’t quite depicted well in the films, and of course Lucius is there just so freaking excited to get back into the Dark Lord’s favor again. (I guess I would too if my wand was destroyed by him!)

Pride or Failure?

Not as much today, but not a bad amount all the same. I’m all geared up and excited for Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out this Friday, and have my midnight tickets all lined up to prove it! Snape apparently wore himself out creating their new minions, and Lucius makes a suggestion that has Severus seething in rage. Sure, he didn’t like to be reminded of that energy source, but it’s either that or a failed mission. And who wants to see Voldie angry, am I right?

Lucius also takes a time-out to reflect on how naive he thinks Severus is. Ironic, isn’t it? And he speculates at what madness drove him to beg Voldemort for Lily’s life. In Lucius’ opinion, that was the biggest mistake he could ever make.

I know my lunchtime writing tomorrow will be filled with more social pursuits, but I definitely plan to get some writing done in the evening. Just need to buckle down and get my word count out. I think once I get these two up off the graveyard floor (so to speak) it’ll get easier. They’re just having a damn good time feeling sorry for themselves at the moment.
