The Truth About The Maligned Hand

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally psyched for the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 premiere tonight! Heading home after work to have a quick dinner, nap, and wake up to dress up for the premiere. Hopefully I’ll even bring back a few pictures too!

Lucius and Severus learn much more about The Maligned Hand than they wanted to, and so they have to put their heads together to come up with a plan. Severus gets an idea, and Lucius is deadset against it. But what can you do when Snape’s determined to fight for Lily’s life? Regardless of the consequences? I bet Lucius is really wishing he was partnered with someone else for this mission right about now. xD

Summary: The time is before the Prophecy, and a young Lucius Malfoy is sent to explore the disappearance of a Death Eater family. When he comes across their bodies, he calls on Severus to assist him. Together they have to figure out the mystery behind the murder, and deal with the revelation of the Prophecy – and how Lucius and Narcissa’s son might be involved.

Argh my word count is suffering this week from the HP Premiere! But its alright, I guess I can sacrifice a few days to the final movie of the series. Didn’t get any writing done yesterday since I passed out while trying to rewatch Deathly Hallows Pt 1. What can I say – the camping bit always bores the crap out of me. Tonight while eating dinner though I’ll be watching a few clips just to make sure I’m up to date. Mostly the scene with Snape’s doe at the lake – supposedly you can hear Snape’s voice saying “Trust Me” around that scene, so we’re going to see if that’s really the case. Then I wanted to watch the scene at Malfoy Manor again. Fenrir is one of my favorite baddies in the series, even though his deadliness isn’t quite depicted well in the films, and of course Lucius is there just so freaking excited to get back into the Dark Lord’s favor again. (I guess I would too if my wand was destroyed by him!)

Pride or Failure?

Not as much today, but not a bad amount all the same. I’m all geared up and excited for Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out this Friday, and have my midnight tickets all lined up to prove it! Snape apparently wore himself out creating their new minions, and Lucius makes a suggestion that has Severus seething in rage. Sure, he didn’t like to be reminded of that energy source, but it’s either that or a failed mission. And who wants to see Voldie angry, am I right?

Lucius also takes a time-out to reflect on how naive he thinks Severus is. Ironic, isn’t it? And he speculates at what madness drove him to beg Voldemort for Lily’s life. In Lucius’ opinion, that was the biggest mistake he could ever make.

I know my lunchtime writing tomorrow will be filled with more social pursuits, but I definitely plan to get some writing done in the evening. Just need to buckle down and get my word count out. I think once I get these two up off the graveyard floor (so to speak) it’ll get easier. They’re just having a damn good time feeling sorry for themselves at the moment.

An Excellent Ally, A Dangerous Enemy

I’m still amazed at the progress I made in only an hour’s time over lunch. I was really gunning for it when I sat down to write, and already had lots of ideas popping up in my head. What was going to be filler until the final battle turned into a funny scene with Lucius scaring some muggle “kids” in a graveyard (if you consider folks 5 years his younger to truly be kids), followed by a sweet moment with him and Severus. Well it wasn’t really sweet, it was in a graveyard and there are lots of dead things around, but for them it was sweet.

Then we get some alluding to Severus’ secretive lineage and one pissed off Snape. Not a bad way to lead into a fight though. An angry Snape is not someone I would want to trifle with.

And depending on how I feel after I get back from dinner tonight, I may write some more. If I don’t get caught up watching Death Hallows Part 1 at least. I’m so looking forward to the film on Thursday night! I’ve got my midnight tickets all lined up, and I may even have a Narcissa Malfoy outfit in line. Just without that stark of black hair, cause that just irritates the hell out of me…

Scaring Muggles is More of a Hobby

Had quite a bit of fun with this run! Lucius and Snape get summoned to the Dark Lord and are told to take out a rival Reformist Wizarding group, known as The Maligned Hand. He wants them to do it themselves, and is using it as a type of test for Lucius’ guts and Severus’ skill. And yes, they have to make their own army. x)

And I more than made up for my dearth of writing yesterday, so I’m back to being ahead of schedule for Camp NaNo! So pleased.

A busy Friday, and not enough writing done

Not too much written today, but enough I think considering it is Friday. I worked earlier, went to the gym afterwards, picked up supplies for my Dragon*Con costume, and even got to catch up on another episode of Game of Thrones.
