Chat With Me At Multiverse

Come see me at Multiverse this weekend!

This weekend you can attend a FREE virtual convention that covers everything from writing to fandom love. It’s a three-day con and there are going to be some amazing panels to watch. No need to sign up, just show up. They’ll have information going up soon on how to get on their Discord server so you can chat with folks in real time throughout the convention.

I’m going to be in a panel on Sunday at 1:00PM on Characterization: Crafting a Villain with some absolutely fantastic fellow authors. Panelists will be watching and commenting live on Discord in the #write channel. Come join our discussion on crafting villains!

In addition to the panel, I’ll have one-on-one mentoring opportunities available Sunday afternoon. Have you ever wanted to pick my brain on publishing? Or on writing? Or on whatever writerly problem you want? This is your chance! I’ll have 8 fifteen minute sessions available, Sunday afternoon after the panel. Pick a slot and you can chat with me on Zoom.

Here are all the main links you’ll need:

I’m super excited to get to chat with y’all one on one! There are also a lot of other folks doing mentoring too, including authors and editors. Some people will even be accepting pitches. This is honestly a fantastic free opportunity so make sure you take advantage of it!

Join Us For A Spooky Reading Tonight

Tonight at 8 PM EST, join me and several other Horror Writers Association Atlanta Chapter members for the first Southern Nightmares Reading Series!

This will be a monthly event where members and one guest will be reading live from one of our books. Since this month Broken is the HWA Atlanta Chapter Book of the Month, I’ll be the first one reading! I’ve chosen a pretty spooky section tonight too!

I hope to see some of you there!

Interview at The Horror Tree

So I apologize folks, but I am terrible at remembering to share interviews I’ve done on here. I share them around like crazy on social media, just because it’s easier to to do, but when it comes down to posting them on my blog, I just forget. It’s one of those bad habits I’ve noticed since my debut novel, Stolen, came out in January, and it’s something I hope to tackle as I continue doing interviews down the road.

The researcher in me thinks there has to be a pattern, because I see other authors struggle with this too, especially as interviews get done around release dates. When you have a book coming out, not only are you prepping for your own release party, but you’re also working on book tours and putting together materials for those. Interviews for some reason just get forgotten after the initial social media push.

So in trying to make up for that lapse, here’s an interview I did back in March for The Horror Tree. Now if you’re a horror author looking for publishers to submit to, this site is indispensable. They’re a free site, and they post up information that is often more detailed than what’s on Duotrope. For short story horror writers, it’s a gem.

The Horror Tree: An indispensable tool for horror authors.

So you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to do an interview for them! This is one of the most comprehensive interviews I’ve done about not just Stolen and The She-Wolf of Kanta, but also for Night Feeders. Check out the link below!

A Cute Short Story and 2019 Plans

It’s been a heck of a week so far! I wrote a lovely little short story featuring Mawr from my novel, Stolen, and the Lady Sphinx. It’s a cute little piece that talks about his live before the events that take place in the book. Seeing as how many people love reading about him, I thought it would be cute to do a little Valentine’s Day special for the adorable guy.

You can read the full piece here at the Parliament House Press website!

Today is also the kick-off day for my YouTube channel! Each Friday I’ll be releasing videos about writing books, author life, and documenting events that inspire my work. My first video chronicles all the events I’ll be at this year and where you can find me. If you want to chat with me about any of my work, that’s a good time to do it! I hope to see some of you this year, especially since I’ll be doing a couple of out-of-state cons!

It’s gonna be a busy year!

The Benefits of Being VIP

I just wanted to take a moment and talk about some of the benefits of hopping onto the mailing list for this site. I know on WordPress especially, I’m bad about just hitting the Follow button and not thinking about it, but that can really limit you on what access you have and what you’re missing out on! So here’s a quick primer on some ways you can keep up to date and get early access to my content.

What You Get

  • Early Cover Reveals. I’m actually drafting one of these right now. And let me tell you, you won’t want to miss this gorgeous cover!
  • Early access to short fiction. I just released a never before published YA Dark Fantasy piece at the end of July exclusively for my VIP groups (for now). And knowing how slow I am, it’s going to be a while before it’s available on my blog haha.
  • Input on all the bookish decisions. For the Facebook group, you can vote on what short story is coming next, have a say on what kind of book swag is coming, and even get to share in any milestones along the way!

Ways To Follow

  • Join the Mailing List
    • You should see a link to it on the menu for this page! Just drop your email address in, and boom, you get the mailing list delivered right to your inbox. If you just want to be kept up to date on everything, organized in a concise fashion, this is the best option.
  • Join the Moonlight Wanderers
    • If Facebook is more your style and you would rather not have more emails in your inbox (I hear you!), then join the Moonlight Wanderers group on Facebook! This team of amazing fans get to experience the journey as I go, and possibly share a few memes along the way.

So why not try one out? If you don’t like it, you can always unsubscribe or leave the group. I just like to make sure my fans don’t miss out on exclusive content!
